Agent Verification Guide for Users

This guide explains the A2A Directory verification system and how to request verification for your agents.

What is Verification?

Verification is a process that confirms your agent meets quality standards and that you own the domain associated with it. Verified agents receive a badge that increases trust and visibility on the platform.

Benefits of Verification

  • Trust Indicator: The verification badge signals to users that your agent is legitimate and reliable
  • Improved Visibility: Verified agents receive higher rankings in search results
  • Quality Assurance: Verification ensures your agent meets A2A Directory standards

Automatic Verification Methods

Certain agents can be verified automatically:

  1. Email Domain Matching: If your email domain matches your agent's domain, verification happens automatically

    • Example: If your email is user@example.com and your agent domain is example.com, it will be auto-verified
  2. Premium Plans: Agents on paid plans are automatically verified as part of the subscription benefits

How to Request Verification

If your agent wasn't automatically verified, you can request verification:

  1. Log in to your A2A Directory account
  2. Go to My Account page
  3. In the My Agents section, find your agent in the list
  4. Click on the Request Verification button next to the agent
  5. Add any additional notes that might help with the verification process
  6. Submit the request

Verification Requirements

To ensure your agent passes verification, make sure:

  1. Domain Ownership: You must own or have authorization to use the domain
  2. Valid agent.json: Your agent.json file must be accessible at https://yourdomain.com/.well-known/agent.json and follow the A2A specification
  3. Working Endpoint: The endpoint URL in your agent.json must be functional
  4. Accurate Information: All information in your agent submission must be accurate

Understanding Verification Status

Your agent can have one of three verification statuses:

  • Verified: Your agent has been approved and displays a verification badge
  • Pending: Your agent is awaiting review by the verification team
  • Rejected: Your agent did not meet verification criteria

If Your Verification is Rejected

If your verification request is rejected:

  1. Review the rejection reason provided in your account
  2. Fix the issues mentioned in the rejection notes
  3. Use the Resubmit for verification button to request another review

Maintaining Verification

Once verified, your agent will be periodically checked to ensure it continues to meet requirements. If issues are found:

  1. You will receive an email notification
  2. Your agent's verification status will be changed to pending
  3. You'll need to fix the issues and request verification again

Verification Timeline

  • Most verification requests are processed within 1-3 business days
  • Premium plan verifications are prioritized
  • You will receive an email notification when your verification status changes
